Sam Kalhorn
Sam Kalhorn holds a master’s degree in jazz studies, and a bachelor’s in classical trumpet from UNO, specializing in lead trumpet and jazz improvisation. Sam is the music director of The Loess Hills Jazz Orchestra, and regularly performs with local art-rock band Magū. Mr. Kalhorn is a top-call lead trumpeter for some of the best event organizations in the country, regularly performs in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area, and has performed in five different countries. Alumni of his studio have made all-state ensembles in Nebraska and Iowa, and have received full-ride scholarships from multiple state universities. When Sam is not teaching or gigging, one would likely be able to find him bicycling on Omaha’s many trails.
